Our furry friends who become a part of our family. It is good to know that when we pass we will all meet up with them again. Your daughter is a very good example of how we all should be when it is time to let them go. Just be there for them knowing how many memories we have made together.

I remember the death of our childhood dog, Lady, like it was yesterday. It was over forty years ago! She, too, had to be put to sleep. She was old and had developed heart trouble. We had to give her digitalis which she kept throwing up. Consequently, she was having attack after attack. It was too painful to watch. My parents took her to have her put to sleep, but later I learned my mother had to take her in and my father waited in the car -- he was crying too hard. Being a manly man, he was embarrassed. I cry all over again just thinking about it.
